Many Thanks for a Successful Fall Festival.........
Dear Parents:
Sorry for the late update - I have been under the weather and have caught a terrible cold! Great is right! But I am sure I will bounce back so we can start planning our other events. Whoo Hoo!
First I would like to thank all who helped & supported our annual Fall Festival. Without you this could not have happened. I would especially like to thank the following individuals because without them I could not have accomplished all that we did, this is truly a family:
Thank you to - Fr. Jim for staying with us all day & making sure we were well and having fun. Mrs. Hall & Mrs. Fiebelkorn for a job well done on Bingo. Ivy Tom for standing & manning the ticket booth & craft area (could not have sold as much without your lucky ticket hat). Philip Choi for coming with me to buy prizes - and yes you were right the glow sticks were the first to go! David & Anna Chan for setting up the goldfish booth & for making sure we had enough goldfish for our little ones. Joyce & all 8th grade parents for their phenomenol job on the Food Booth - Good choice for a yummy tummy. Lisa French for helping to coordinate the Girls Drum & Bell Corp and the Holy Family booth. Also Lisa made with her own hands the curry chicken, she also got donations for pizza, dim sum & sushi. Mei Leung for making 2 pans of sushi rolls. Mr. Ballesteros and Julie Quock for their great festivity ideas. I also could not have done this without my one and only, Damian. He changed his trip to Seattle just to be around to help! Lastly, Mr. Huang thank you for your help all day! (If I have missed anyone I am sorry, my brain is a little foggy!)
Overall the Fall Festival was great. The amount of game tickets sold was amazing, our pre-orders brought in close to 3,000 game tickets and the day of we sold close to 2,000. Wonderful! Next year let's break our record and sell 10,000.
Thank you for visiting and to all who helped!

Message from 2008-2009 PTG Chairperson
Greetings Parents! It is with great pleasure that I will serve you and your children as the 2008-2009 PTG Chairperson. This is my 10th year as a parent of St. Mary's and find great joy in being involved with my children's education and extra-curricular activities. You ask why? I believe it benefits the children as well as supports the school. There is no better way to know what's happening at the school; to help share ideas, experiences and/or concerns with other parents and teachers; be part of a solution and making positive changes. This is just a few opportunities to be part of the school's community.
The PTG meetings are very informative. Some nights may be longer than expected but only if important things need to be addressed or planning an event such as the Fall Festival. Generally, the meetings end within an hour. Participating in the extra-curricular activities also gives our children a chance to talk and play with others outside of their classroom.
I can truly say that St. Mary's is a part of my family and will forever remain my family. The staff and teachers are amazing with the children and this is exactly what we want for our children.

Partnership with Parents
At St. Mary's Chinese Day School, parents play an important role in their children's academic, spiritual, emotional and athletic growth. Parents partner with the school and become involved to obtain the full spectrum of student life at St. Mary's Chinese Day School. The involvement should include but not limited to Parent-Teacher Group meeting, sports and other activities hosted by the school. We understand that parents are generally very tired after a full day of work but we encourage you to participate in as many meetings/activities as you can.
